The Next Generation in Intermittent Catheterization

Engineered in Germany by Manfred Sauer. A soft, rounded, flexible tip on a firmer guiding shaft, in hydrophilic and gel versions.

~1,800

The average user of intermittent self-catheterization inserts a catheter approximately 1,800 times per year. At that frequency, comfort and gentle insertion matter.

The Design Trade-Off

Firmer catheters: Easier to guide, but less forgiving
Softer catheters: Gentler, but can be harder to advance

Why IQ Catheter?

Engineered in Germany by Manfred Sauer, the IQ Catheter is designed to combine the two: a flexible front end on a firmer guiding shaft.

The IQ Catheter's patented design has a soft spherical head on a highly bendable neck, a flexible front section followed by a firmer guiding shaft, and smooth, rounded eyelets.

Soft, Flexible Tip

A soft, rounded tip sits on a bendable neck and flexible front section, followed by a firmer shaft for advancement.

No Tip Orientation Needed

Unlike an angled Coudé tip, the rounded flexible tip doesn't need to be pointed in a set direction during insertion, which some users with limited hand function prefer.

Hydrophilic or Gel

Choose a hydrophilic coating that creates a slippery surface along the catheter's length, or a gel-lubricated version — both designed to reduce friction during insertion and removal.

Single-Use

Each catheter is designed for single use. Canadian best practice recommendations advise single-use, pre-lubricated catheters, especially for people who get repeated UTIs.

Often Considered For

Urethral strictures
Catheterization after urethral or prostate surgery, as directed by the surgeon
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
A history of difficult catheterization

No single catheter is right for everyone. Choose your catheter with your urologist or continence nurse.
